ARGology.org

A rather overdue plug for a new web site I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in creating, which will be of interest to anyone new to Alternative Reality Games.

www.ARGology.org has been created by members of the International Game Designer’s Association (IDGA) special interest group in ARGs, formed from those with commercial interest in the genre, and (small but growing numbers of) those with an academic interest. It aims to define the genre and detail current and past activity, giving a good starting point to players and researchers.

The brainchild of Christy Dena, the site includes a specific section on ARGs in Education, written and compiled by myself, Brian Alexander of NITLE and J. James Bono. It’s a work in progress, and more will be added in the coming months, but there is enough there now to give anyone a good head start in the genre.
